Dreaded Friend Grenache 2018

Picked on the 12th and 22nd of February 2018. We picked 2 different parcels of Grenache around 10 days apart. These parcels were vinified and cared for in the same way. This in house trial was to measure the quality difference between different picking dates. Both parcels were chilled down over night and processed the next day. 100% de-stemmed into a 1 tonne open fermenting vats. Let warm to ambient temperature where spontaneous fermentation took hold. Fermentation temperature range 28-32 degrees C. Lasting about 8 days and a further 7 days post maceration of skins. Pressed off using a small basket press into old barrique barrels and stored until racking and bottling in March 2019. 

This wine did not see any fining. Perfumed red berry fruits with a touch of spice. Light bodied with soft juicy tannins. Organic, Vegan, Biodynamic.
